Real political change begins at the local level and there is no section of political geography smaller or more local than the Precinct. By getting involved in the political process at that level you can begin to exert a growing influence on the world around you and do your part in promoting the ideals and principles that American’s have protected for generations.
The Precinct Project has been launched in an effort to help educate and motivate conservatives across the country to become more involved in the political process. Toward that end, we are working to gather and curate an ever-growing amount of information about how to become a Precinct Chairman or Committeeman, how to be effective in that role and how to maximize your impact within the party system.
It is our goal to serve as a nexus of information related to becoming a Precinct Committee member and excelling in that positon. To that end, we will provide general and state specific information about the laws and practices of each state. The information in this site shouldn’t be taken as legal advice but as a primer to help educate voters and those interested in influencing their community. If you have information that you believe would be helpful to this sites’ visitors we would greatly appreciate you sharing it with us. We will work to keep the information on the site as fresh and accurate as possible.
The Precinct Project is powered by American Majority Action and operated in conjunction with some of the nation’s most effective conservative activists. This project would not be possible without the indispensable work of Dan ‘ColdWarrior’ Schultz and Ron Robinson. We are joined in this effort by a number of supporting individuals and organizations. Check out this list of our friends! If you would like to be added, please contact us.
This site will feature blogs and resources written from a variety of perspectives and from a growing number of conservative activists. We are a non-partisan organization but unapologetically conservative. While blogs and resources will necessarily mention America’s major political parties due to the realities of precinct organization we don’t endorse a particular party or candidate. It is our belief that as conservatives become more deeply involved in their precincts that the party of their choice will more fully represent them as a result of their efforts.
- Dan ‘Coldwarrior’ Schultz is an elected precinct committeeman on his local Republican Legislative District 17 committee and an elected “At Large” member of the Maricopa County Republican Committee in Arizona. He is an acclaimed diarist at Redstate.com (Erick Erickson recently remarked there, “[R]ead everything Coldwarrior writes.“), founder of the Precinct Committeeman discussion Group at Patriot Action Network (formerly ResistNet.com) and is considered the leading national figure in precinct committee work through his teaching blog www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com and by recruitment talks he gives to grass roots conservative groups. Dan has also contributed content to the Concord Project Get Out The Vote efforts including “how to” videos relating to The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy and the power of the individual activist in actually delivering votes for candidates. Since the fall of 2008, Dan has recruited hundreds, if not thousands, of precinct committeemen, either directly or indirectly (by teaching others how to do it) through his face-to-face presentations, radio interviews and blogging efforts on a variety of grass roots conservative blogs, including his own. He has also authored Kindle book, Taking Back Your Government: The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy.
- Ron Robinson (Alhambra, CA) is founder of PROCINCT, a national internet platform that delivered precinct walk lists (like Voter Vault or PDI) in the 2010 election for over 16 million voters in wards in 20 US states. PROCINCT added Precinct Strategy support in Dec of 2010 and is rapidly emerging as a premier online Precinct Strategy resource having worked directly with party and election officials in states to remove local obstacles to becoming a Precinct Committeeman. He is GOP Chair for the AD49 GOP Central Committee, a member of the Los Angeles County GOP Central Committee and a member of the LA GOP Technology Committee. Robinson worked as New Media Director for the John Colbert campaign for US Congress and produced the acclaimed ‘The Five Tasks’ video which was featured at the RedState Gathering in 2010. An editor for UnififedPatriots.com and American Majority’s PrecinctProject.us, he is an expert in social media, ecommerce and internet security and an outspoken advocate of precinct committee work, GOTV work, and transparency in party governance.
- American Majority Action is a 501c4 organization. We believe in the free market, American individualism and the belief that when American citizens engage in the political arena, real change happens. Our organizational philosophy remains centered around grassroots action.
